Chamberlain Dory Skiff,
hull built by the SF Maritime Museum boat building class
taught by Simon Watts in 1994. Solid douglas fir planks
over white oak frames fastened with copper rivets;
otherwise all silicon bronze fasteners and
hardware. I purchased it in 2005 and rigged it for
sail, using white oak for the centerboard case, mast
step and partners, kickup rudder and bowsprit
partner. Bowsprit and mast are CVG doug fir,
centerboard is two layers of Meranti marine ply glassed with a lead
weight. Hull is 13' 6" long, LOA just under 16' with bowsprit. Bottom was treated with Smith's CPES, faired and glassed up to the top of the garboard strake for display at the 2015, 2016 and 2019 Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. Handmade 8' oars are solid spruce. Two jibs and one mainsail with a deep reef, rigged with either standard tiller or yoke steering. On a galvanized 2004 EZ Loader trailer in Richmond, CA.
